Oh Boxing Day! The most important day of the year for shopaholic Candians such as myself. To celebrate I spent half an hour trying to find parking so I could explore the wonders of the post-christmas shopping. I went to one of the biggest malls in the world (which is conveniently located in my city) and spent money on things I don’t really need. What did I buy? Here’s my list!
Simons Tote bag
I got this black tote bag (unlabelled) from Simons for $119. I’d been looking for a tote bag for a really really really long time and I thought I had found the perfect one! This was minimalistic, black, (faux) leather, didn’t have tons of crazy embellishments on it, and wasn’t too big! It was seemingly perfect! I was a bit pressed for time so I bought it without really looking through it and left! As soon as I got home however, I was disappointed. The straps were a little too short which made it awkward to hold with my armpit being a bit too close to the top. Furthermore, I didn’t get the chance to really look inside the bag while I was at the store but when I did at home, i found that it was compartmentalized. I’m sure some people would prefer a bag with things like that but it just wasn’t what I was looking for. I was really hoping for an open bag with no compartments or pockets on the inside. I was also really annoyed with the huge flap that covered the interior of the bag from prying eyes. It wasn’t an awful idea in theory, but in practice it was incredibly annoying. The flap wouldn’t stay open, this made it frustrating to try and get something in or out of it (or in my case, take pictures of the inside). I really was looking for the most simple bag and I almost found it, but I guess not quite.
This was a purchase that I was truly pleased with. This H&M sweater cost me only $15 and it’s a dream. Tan is a neutral that I didn’t yet to own and I love the cable knit front. This sweater also fits perfectly although I’ll warn that I got a size up from what I usually get (since I looked fat in my usual size). Considering my petite frame I was really impressed that it wasn’t too long on me. This was probably my favourite buy from Boxing Day!
Aritzia Knit Shirt
I fell in love with this shirt for the shape of its hem and the plain white colour. I loved the scoop style bottom in store but didn’t get a chance to try it on so when I did at home, I wasn’t impressed. The sleeves were incredibly long on me (to be fair I’m very petite) and the shirt was awkwardly fitted. The fabric was clinging to my skin despite it not being necessarily tight on me. The sleeves were also awkwardly fitted with them being weirdly tight up to the middle of my bicep. Yeah, it was weird, this one is going back, especially since the “sale price” of this literally saved me about $3.
VS Undies and Bralettes
This sale wasn’t amazing to me but the panties were just to cute to resist! They were on “sale” at 7 for $28. It wasn’t expensive so much as underwhelming since they have these “deals” on pretty regularly. Regardless, I bought my seven panties in all different colours and was very happy! I also bought a couple of bralettes (even though they weren’t on sale). Lately bralettes have caught my attention for being as comfortable as sports bras but not as difficult to take off and way cuter! I bought two of them in two different sizes and I was originally sceptical of the floral peach one however as soon as I tried it on, I fell in love! Maybe it was the fact that it fit me better but the colour and the cross cross front is so gorgeous, I can’t wait to wear it under a low cut top!
Did you go shopping? What’d you buy? Let me know in the comments below!
P.S. In case anyone was wondering, I totally used a pillowcase on top of the plaid throw as my background. Maybe when I’m a super famous successful blogger I’ll be able to invest in some sweet backdrops!
