March 2017 Makeup Favorites

The basics

This months makeup favs are all super simple products that are perfect for every-day wear and some skincare products that I’m suddenly in love with! The only thing I would consider “fancy” is the Becca highlighter, although even that works just fine on its own! I know makeup is always changing as are the formulas and popular colours, but at this time (March 2017), these are my holy grails!

Mac Pro Longwear Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel + Mac 263 Angled Liner Brush

I originally got this after being sick of using felt tip eyeliners that would last couple weeks before going dry or just becoming dull and have been using it for months! This stuff is amazing, it works just like any of those felt tip liquid liners without a crusty brush! You can wash the brush when its dirty, the pot lasts forever, and the liner stays in place all day! This specific liner brush is also the best one I’ve found and is especially great since the fact that it is an angled brush makes the straight lines for your wings easy peasy!

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

This is just a simple palette. I honestly don’t have that much to say except that I love its simplicity! It goes with just about anything for a neutral eye look, and I’ve even used faint and foxy to contour! No shame! This palette is tiny, perfect for travel, and has a little compact mirror! It was my very first eyeshadow palette and continues to be one of my favourites!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

After hearing tonnes of raving reviews for this, I finally tried (the mini version of) it! This mascara extends your lashes a ridiculous amount without the clumps. Long lashes that don’t look like spider legs! I. Am. Shook.

Dr.Brandt Microdermabrasion exfoliator

I got this in my Boxycharm box last month and have been using it at least once every week! Every time I use it, my skin feels wonderful soft and smooth!

The Face Shop Mild Papaya Peel

This is  another skincare product to get rid of dead skin cells. I just really like my face dead-skin free. I use this one generally right before a facemask (as recommended by the dude at the face shop). My fav thing about this stuff is that it doesn’t hurt to moisturize right after. No after sting!

The Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex Pastel Cushion Blusher

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

This foundation literally gives me life! Its an ultralight high coverage foundation thats super-creamy and perfectly matches my skin! When applied with a wet sponge applicator, you end up with perfect dewy skin!

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

Well, this is the sister of my lovely foundation. While she’s a little smaller, she’s way stronger! This stuff hides everything! As long as you set it (I use the LM translucent setting powder), it will hide all your dark circles, acne, black heads, and anything else you can think of! I use a shade lighter than my foundation to brighten up my face.

Becca Prismatic Amethyst Skin Perfector

This highlighter is everything! As much as it seems like some fashion forward, risky highlighter, its not! It can be worn even on the most bare faced days and works just as well when you need some glam in your life! The gorgeous lavender shade is universally complimentary and the formula is so bendable that its my go to highlight! It works especially well to compliment pink eyeshadow looks!

Too Faced Melted Matte (shade: sell-out)

This is the perfect nude and no-one can convince me otherwise. It has pink undertones and is such a gorgeous neutral that compliments my (tan/olive) skin tone perfectly! Its my new go-to lipstick (past was KVD Lolita). While I still love my Lolita, KVD was just a little bit more wintery. I’ll probably be in sell-out all summer long!

Lush Lip Scrub

So this is my very first lip scrub and it changed the way I wear liquid (or really any) lipstick! Its just the best way to exfoliate your lips before using a drying product on your lips. Your lipstick doesn’t flake off!

The Body Shop Tea Tree BB Cream

This is the ultimate lazy day product! This bb cream is high coverage and creamy! It blends wonderfully and since I’m so lucky, it even matches my skin tone! For days I don’t have time to go all out or simply don’t want to, I’ll just use this! Its also moisturizing and I’m 99% sure the tea tree oil is good for your skin! It covers up most of my blemishes and is basically just a skin perfecting snapchat filter in real life.

  1. Thanks for the post, I was really interested to hear some reviews on the Better Than Sex mascara and the Naked Basics palette before investing in them.

    1. The naked basics palette is one of the best investments I’ve made in my makeup! It’s honestly such a perfect to-go palette and because it’s so neutral, you can wear it with just about anything!

  2. I’ve always been a fan of Lush’s lips scrubs, and need to get my hands on a new one! It was lovely to read your thoughts on these products, some new ones to keep an eye out for 🙂
