Boxy charm never disappoints! This months box was worth a total of (USD) $112.96! I received a combination of makeup and skincare products and am thus far extremely happy with the value that I get from these boxes every month! In this post I’ll be reviewing each product that I got in my June 2017 Boxycharm!
RealHer Eyeshaddow palette
I got the first edition eyeshadow palette. It’s a perfect neutral palette that’s incredibly beginner friendly! The pigmentation on the shadows is not quite ABH level, but is impressive for an up-and-coming brand! My favourite thing about this brand is the fact that its cruelty-free and 20% of all proceeds go towards a charity that empowers women! This palette is comparable to the naked basics palette as it works for neutral day or night looks and can be as bold and daring or as soft and subtle as you want! This palette is worth $28.00.
Biobelle Cosmetics Sheet Masks (3)
I actually haven’t tried these yet since I’m still working through all the sheet masks I bought from the face shop (review here), but I already love them! The packaging is so retro glam and I’m hoping it works as good as it looks! I’ll update this as soon as I try them out so stay tuned! The three masks retail for $14.97.
Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder
I have a lot of highlighters but this is my first loose powder highlighter. It’s super finely milled (think Laura Mercier setting powder) and is super glittery. Unfortunately, I’m a little new to the idea of loose powder highlighters and I’m not really sure I’m applying it right. It seems to simply get swept away and perhaps because it is so finely milled, it doesn’t pack on and really POP. I’ll try using it again with a brush wet with setting spray, I’m just afraid it may end up looking caked. I’ll update this if I find a better way to use it. This powder retails for $26.99.
Ofra Cosmetics Long Lasting Lipstick
I’m a sucker for a liquid lipstick and since I LOVED ofra’s rodeo drive highlighter I was excited to try out this lipstick by them too! I received the shade The colour is a beautiful bright pink/red (honestly it looks different on different skin tones) that would go well with a denim jacket. While the colour is gorgeous, it didn’t last me as long as I had hoped. I had to reapply it a few times at work in between coffee and it did smudge a bit. Overall it wasn’t a long lasting lipstick, but I’m okay with having to fix it up a few times. This retails for $19.90.
Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Precision Tapered Face Brush #640
I love rose gold, and I love getting makeup brushes, but I didn’t love this brush. Its a beautiful brush with a rose gold “handle” and the soft grey ends, but isn’t super practical. I don’t see myself getting much use out of it. Personally, I don’t see the use in a brush with really long soft bristles. I could maybe use it for highlight, but it wouldn’t be as effective as my fan brush. It’ll probably stay as a las resort brush for when the rest are dirty. This brush retails for $24.00.
Even though I wasn’t blown away by each and every piece in this box, overall I’m still impressed. My boxy charm subscription allows me to continually grow my makeup collection and try brands I otherwise wouldn’t, all for a fraction the cost! I’ll definitely be playing around with the reacher shadow collection. I’ll try and find a practical way to use the diamond glow powder as well as the face brush (maybe together?). I’m still excited about boxy charm and I’ll now await July’s goodies!
